So Long Warm Autumn Weather; Colder Changes Ahead This Week…

Highlights:

  • Bye-bye unseasonably warm weather
  • Wet start to the work week
  • Colder times loom

Early Sunday Sun; Rain Increases In Coverage Tonight…The morning is off to a pleasant start, including unseasonably mild conditions and a SW breeze.  Clouds will thicken up this evening and a scattered shower will be possible.  Rain will increase in coverage and intensity tonight into Monday as an area of low pressure tracks into the Ohio Valley and eastern Great Lakes by Tuesday morning.  Steadiest rain will impact central Indiana Monday morning before diminishing to showers Monday afternoon and evening.  Temperatures will fall into the 50s Monday morning into the afternoon.

A bigger “jab” of chilly air will plunge into the region for midweek.  Considerable cloudiness will accompany the unseasonably chilly conditions, along with a gusty northwest breeze.

As we look ahead towards next weekend, another in a series of cold fronts (get used to that) will eye a Friday evening approach.  Showers will be possible as this front blows through the region.  Sharply colder air looms next weekend.  Frost and freeze conditions will likely develop early next week, along with the first flakes of the season…

  • Dry and chilly weekend
  • First freeze of the season
  • Dry skies remain next week

Cold Air Blows In This Evening…We’ll wrap up the work week with plentiful sunshine, but reinforcing cold air will blow into town this evening.  After a high in the middle 50s, temperatures will begin to fall rather quickly by late afternoon into the early evening. Temperatures will grow cold enough to allow the first freeze of the season to greet many Hoosiers Saturday and Sunday mornings (many neighborhoods away from the city will drop into the middle/ upper 20s).

Dry skies will remain next week, but by the middle parts of next week, all eyes will be on our next fall storm system.  It’s still early, but the next best chances of rain appear to be slated for a late week arrival next week.  Colder air will follow.

Upcoming 7-Day Precipitation Forecast:

Snowfall: 0.00″

Rainfall: 0.00″

Dry; Reinforcing Chilly Air…We’ll wrap up the work week on a dry note, but a breezy one as reinforcing chilly air blows into town.

First thing’s first and that’s Thursday.  Frosty conditions will greet many out the door tomorrow morning before an increasingly breezy afternoon and evening.  This is ahead of a front that will sweep through here Friday and result in the coldest air of the fall season so far over the weekend.  In addition to our first freeze (many neighborhoods away from the city will fall into the 20s this weekend), highs Saturday likely won’t make it out of the 40s for most.

Despite an isolated shower chance Monday, it’s a dry 7-day, along with fairly seasonable conditions when you total everything up.  The potential is there for more active times just beyond the forecast period…

Upcoming 7-Day Precipitation Forecast:

  • Snowfall: 0.00″
  • Rainfall: Trace – 0.05″

Showers Today; Weekend Freeze…

  • Damp weather at times later today
  • Dry, cool weather returns
  • Weekend freeze

Election Day Showers…The morning is starting off dry across central IN, but showers will increase later today- especially this afternoon.  Rainfall totals won’t be impressive and most neighborhoods should check-in with 0.10″-0.25″ by evening. Drier, cooler air will work in tonight and set up a very pleasant mid week stretch as the cold front sweeps southeast.

Reinforcing cool air will blow into town Friday evening and result in back-to-back freezes this weekend.  Many away from the city can expect to dip into the upper 20s Saturday and Sunday mornings.  Highs will likely remain in the 40s Saturday.  Dry skies will continue through the remainder of the period.

Upcoming 7-Day Precipitation Forecast:

  • Snowfall: 0.00″
  • Rainfall: 0.10″ – 0.25″
