The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of central Indiana under a Slight Risk of severe weather today, and included southwestern Indiana under an enhanced risk.
While some noisy storms are ongoing this morning east of the city, it’s not until this afternoon that we’re most concerned for severe thunderstorms. The primary risks remain strong, damaging winds and large hail. We’ll bracket the afternoon and early evening for greatest severe potential.

Storms will begin pressing southeast and a briefly drier time should evolve tonight.
Don’t get used to the dry times, however, as wet conditions return Friday, courtesy of a secondary area of low pressure scooting through the area. Locally heavy rain will be a good bet Friday.
